Чтобы создать боке нужно хороший свет. Как правильно работать труднее с невнятным светом от уличных реклам, потолочных ламп и тонированных окон.Желательно иметь свет, который направлен прямо в объектив. Чем больше направленного света, тем лучше боке.
Это может быть солнце, свечи, новогодние гирлянды, обычный лапмы без плафона.
Яркие источники, которые являются отражением, тоже отлично подходят для боке.
Например разноцветные деревья на ярком солнце будут отражать своими листьями искрящиеся точки, которые могут стать замечательным боке. Хорошим боке могут стать блики на волнах воды под прямыми солнечными лучами.
Форма
Боке бывает самых разных форм и размеров. Но поскольку большинство объективов имеют круглые линзы и круглую диафрагму, то большинство боке состоит из кругов.Однако эта форма определяется формой диафрагмы. Именно из-за этого рисунок боке может меняться по форме от идеального круга до шести-, семи-, восьмиугольника и т.д.
Откройте диафрагму как можно шире, чтобы получить круглое боке. Уменьшите отверстие и идеальный круг превратится в шестиугольник, восьмиугольник или другую произвольную фигуру, которая зависит от формы диафрагмы.

Следите за переходами в зоне нерезкости
Когда вы собираетесь снимать объект на переднем плане с сильным размытием на фоне (или наоборот) знайте как происходит переход из резкости в размытие.Если огни будут размыты на фоне, то их размер будет менятся в зависимости от расстояния. Более далеко расположенные огни будут более размыты, в то время как более близкие будут менее размыты.
В зависимости от вашего объектива это может привести к странным и некрасивыми эффектам. Это может приводить к появлению большого количества визуального беспорядка в кадре, поскольку будут смешиваться более резкие и более размытые объекты.
Проблему возможно решить путем правильного расположения объекта и фона. Чтобы получался резкий передний план, который бы контрастировал с одинаково размытами объектами вне фокуса.

Неплохо может работать и приоритет диафрагмы. Хотя и может доставить некоторые неприятности из-за неправильного выбора выдержки.
Поэтому стоит прочитать инструкцию по ручному режиму.
Используйте правильную выдержку
Снимая боке вы часто будете замечать, что:- снимать во второй половине дня и ночью интересней, т.к. появляется больше источников света;
- лучше использовать телеобъектив для приближения и увеличения боке.
При этом оба варианта говорят о том, что света для правильной экспозиции будет меньше.
Даже если боке переводится как «размытие», вам все еще нужно получить резкое изображение без дополнительного размытия там где не надо.
Стремитесь к выдержке не менее 1/160 сек.
Или убедитесь, что правило соотношения выдержки и фокусного расстояния соблюдается. Чтобы движение камеры в момент съемки не добавляло ненужного размытия.
Не забывайте, что вы всегда можете увеличить ISO, чтобы достичь более короткой выдержки, которая предотвратит смазанность из-за дрожания камеры.
Убедитесь, что четкость изображения достаточная
Съемка с малой глубиной резкости естественным образом заставляет вас уменьшать резкость и терять четкость.Я рекомендую использовать фокусировку по одной точке, чтобы точно знать, что ваш главный объект находится в фокусе.
